Frequently asked questions

Answers about Cap Mosaic Maker versions, features, subscriptions, physical assembly, and printing services.

General Questions

What is a bottle cap mosaic?

A picture built from bottle caps. Each cap acts as a single mosaic tile — its printed artwork, color, and texture combine with hundreds or thousands of other caps to form the overall image. From a distance you see the picture; up close you see the individual caps. Read the full explanation.

Do I need to own bottle caps to use Cap Mosaic Maker?

No. You can create digital bottle cap mosaic artwork and printable posters without owning any physical caps — the Online Version includes a demo cap library to start with. You only need a real collection when you want to assemble a physical mosaic.

What is the difference between the Online and Standalone versions?

The Online Version runs in your browser and is designed for digital mosaic artwork and poster printing, with overall repeat control and cap color adjustment. The Standalone Version is designed for physical mosaics: individual Cap Inventory limits, Automatic Cap Rotation, and Workplan generation for assembly. See the full comparison.

Online Version

Does the Online Version run in my browser?

Yes — nothing to install. You load a picture, configure cap size, pattern, and grid, then create and save your mosaic. More about the Online Version.

Can I use my own cap photos?

Yes. Load your own cap photos to build a custom library — square, centered images up to 800 × 800 px work best. Your photos stay on your device; only a small amount of per-photo color data is sent for matching. See the Privacy Notice.

Can I adjust colors in the Online Version?

Yes. Color adjustment (including brightness, saturation, and contrast) helps the mosaic resemble your original photo more closely — ideal for printable artwork. About color adjustment.

Can I set quantity limits per cap design in the Online Version?

No. The Online Version has an overall repeat control that limits total cap repetition, but it does not manage per-design inventory. For individual cap quantity limits, use the Standalone Version.

Standalone Version

What is Cap Inventory?

Cap Inventory lets you set the available quantity of each individual cap design, so a physical mosaic plan never exceeds the caps you actually own. It is a Standalone Version feature. Learn more.

Does the Standalone Version rotate caps automatically?

Yes — and so does the Online Version. Automatic Cap Rotation turns each cap to an angle that makes better use of its natural artwork, shading, and visual patterns. Why rotation matters.

Which operating systems does the Standalone Version support?

Windows at the moment; a macOS version is coming soon. A free trial is available before purchase — contact us for details.

Why is color adjustment disabled in physical mosaic mode?

Deliberately: when you will assemble real caps, the preview must show their actual appearance. A recolored preview would mislead your assembly. Read the distinction.

Subscription & Billing

How much does Cap Mosaic Maker cost?

$49.95 per year, renewing automatically. One subscription includes both the Online Version and the Standalone Version. A 3% tax applies to purchases made through PayPal. See pricing.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. The Online Version works in guest mode with no account, new registered online users get a free plan, and the Standalone Version offers a free trial before purchase. Open the Online App.

What happens when my subscription expires?

You can still open and edit your existing projects, but you cannot create new projects until you renew. Post-expiration rules for exports, rendering, and Workplan generation will be defined in the final subscription terms.

Which policies govern my subscription?

The EzMosaic Terms of Service, Privacy Notice, and Storage Rules apply. The Billing Policy will be linked once published on ezmosaic.com.

Physical Mosaic Assembly

What is a Workplan?

The assembly guide generated by Cap Mosaic Maker — available in both versions. It shows which cap goes in which position, so placing thousands of caps stays manageable. In the Standalone Version the plan also respects your Cap Inventory quantities. About the Workplan.

How many caps will my mosaic need?

It depends on your grid size and cap diameter — a 60 × 60 grid needs 3,600 caps. Estimate your cap count.

Printing Services

Can I print my finished mosaic?

Yes. Both versions produce printable, photo-quality mosaic pictures, and EzMosaic offers Poster Printing as a separate service — sizes up to 1.2 m (47 in) wide, shipping worldwide. About printing services.

What is Replica Cap Printing?

A service that prints physical replica caps — useful when your plan calls for caps you do not own, or designs that exist only digitally. Priced separately from the subscription. Learn more.
